Sudbury’s Annual Town Meeting gets underway at 7 p.m. this Monday, May 4.

Town meeting will be in the auditorium of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. It is open to all Sudbury registered voters, and voters must participate in person. There is no remote participation or absentee voting option.

The meeting is likely to continue Tuesday, May 5, and will continue Wednesday, May 6, if necessary, at 7 p.m.

The Annual Town Meeting warrant lists the basic rules and procedures for conducting the meeting and provides information about each of the 39 articles that will be taken up. Information on accessibility and available accommodations is available in the warrant on pages v and vi. Information on the availability and use of assisted listening services is on p. vi.

Among the issues that will be decided at town meeting are town and school budgets, creation of a vocational education stabilization fund, transportation programs funding, hiring a consultant for Sewataro planning, amending the Lincoln-Sudbury high school regional agreement, rail trail parking, and installation of solar canopies in parking lots at Curtis Middle School, Haskell Field and the police station.

The Annual Town Meeting will be broadcast live on SudburyTV. The internet livestream can be viewed on a computer, smartphone, or other device at sudburytv.org. A cable subscription is not needed to view the livestream. Cable TV subscribers can tune in on Comcast channels 8 and 1074 and Verizon channels 31 and 2130.

Sudbury will hold a Special Town Meeting Wednesday, May 20, called in response to a citizen’s petition. That meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. The warrant for that meeting has not yet been posted. The deadline to register to vote in the May 20 Special Town Meeting is Friday, May 8.
