Sudbury’s recently released 15-Year Capital Plan – among other significant planning documents – will guide infrastructure investments in facilities, equipment, and community services. This plan will affect how the town manages the assets that residents rely on every day. Implementing it will require transparent decision-making about priorities, funding strategies, and budgeting trade-offs.

Also, the Route 20 Corridor Study calls for public investments to unlock quality of life and economic development improvements. With two rail trails now open, we must better link our commercial corridor to these pathways and expand our sidewalks and pedestrian accommodations.

I have always loved libraries, and feel incredibly proud of our library in Sudbury. When our new Director was chosen, Amy shared her vision of Goodnow as a wonderful “third space” for Sudbury. My hope is to help support that vision, providing a safe, welcoming space, meeting the needs of everyone in Sudbury, no matter their age or interests.
My second goal in running for the board is to provide advocacy and protection to our amazing library and librarians in a time when so many of them are under increasing pressure from book challenges and funding cuts.

The Town of Sudbury is fortunate to have such a beautiful and well-utilized library. The library offers an exceptional staff, vibrant programming for all ages, and numerous resources for patrons to enjoy and explore. Moving forward, I would like to focus on increasing the library’s visibility beyond its walls by expanding outreach efforts to locations such as assisted living facilities and by offering story times and programs at community venues outside the library. The library is truly the heart of Sudbury, and increased visibility will allow it to reach and serve even more members of our community.

Having served the Sudbury Board of Health for over 11 years, I remain committed to upholding strong public health standards grounded in sound, evidence-based science. I will continue to follow guidance from leading medical institutions such as the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association and stay aligned with policies from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. I support clear, accessible, proactive, science based public health communication and will champion our boots-on-the-ground inspectional staff, public health nurse, and social workers to expand essential services despite funding challenges.

I am running for Park and Recreation Commissioner to strengthen and improve the outdoor spaces that serve our entire community. My priorities include thoughtful design, and construction of new and existing athletic fields. I believe we can expand recreational opportunities and provide safer connections between schools, rail trails, and athletics while protecting our conservation land and open space. Just as important, I am committed to fluid communication between town officials, the Park and Recreation Commission, and residents. By listening to community input and working collaboratively, we can make transparent, informed decisions that reflect both current needs and long-term goals.

Over the past four years, I have had the pleasure of giving back to the community as a Member of the Planning Board. I seek to continue serving as a steward for Sudbury’s historic and rural character as the town grows.

I would focus on strengthening family and community engagement while supporting effective teaching, learning, and technology decisions. I would build trust through transparency and two-way communication by creating inclusive opportunities for public participation and listening sessions to ensure families and educators feel heard and informed, and that the district translates feedback into clear priorities and actions. I would also support thoughtful curriculum and technology oversight, especially monitoring the K–5 EL Education curriculum and the Grade 6 pilot. I would partner closely with educators and administrators, using input and student-centered data to understand what’s working and what needs adjustment.

What are the first two issues you would address if elected, and how would you address them?
I am a public school educator and parent who believes schools are strongest when families, teachers, and students are true partners. If elected, I would focus on two priorities.

First, I would strengthen and support classrooms so all students feel safe and included and educators are valued. This includes promoting clear, consistent communication between the School Committee, the administration, and the community.

Second, I would prioritize fiscal responsibility and long-term planning. In uncertain times, federal funding cannot be assumed, so I would focus on careful, responsible budgeting to ensure stability now and in the future.

I ran for the LSSC in 2023 to bring my perspective as a former student to the Committee’s work and to ensure that today’s students receive an education as strong as the one I received.
Please forgive me, I have three current objectives:
-
Completing an overdue update to our Regional Agreement
-
Planning to replace our roof
-
Furthering inclusion by having a nonvoting METCO representative on the Committee, evaluating our ADA compliance, and advancing efforts to teach respect for human differences.
I recently announced a campaign for State Representative, informed by my experience on LSSC. I hope to earn your support!

If elected, my priority would be to support L-S’s budgeting process. Our school is strong, yet there are challenges ahead. Our communities will need to fund a substantial roof project in the near future. Funding for our special education students is uncertain due to policy shifts in Washington, D.C. As enrollment changes, we must continue to adjust our spending. I will tackle these and other issues with the long-term health of our high school in mind.
As a parent of two students at L-S, I will also prioritize efforts to build community among students from different towns and backgrounds.
